Round 3 – Spain, (Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya)

CPI won their first race this year with CPI_Jamie in the third round of Velocity Ultimate Masters Team Racing League, who piloted his way to a hard-fought triumph after a post-race penalty given to Lighty_4423 (Invictus Racing Team).

As the teams took to the track for qualifying, CPI_Volcano67 (CPI) took pole position by 2 tenths from Lighty_4423 (Invictus Racing Team).

In the race, the CPI duo immediately established themselves as the frontrunners, as their commanding lead over the IRT (Invictus Racing Team) duo hinted at a potential runaway performance. We saw some great battles in the midfield which got better after a safety car was deployed on lap 11. Most of the drivers took this opportunity and dived in the pitlane for new tyres.  These battles led to some fantastic racing, but we also saw some wheel-banging. The drama heightened once again with the appearance of another safety car, reshuffling strategies across the grid. In the closing stages of the race, Lighty_4423 (Invictus Racing Team) fought with CPI_Volcano (CPI) and CPI_Jamie (CPI) for the lead of the race. The climax came in the form of a heart-stopping final lap as CPI_Volcano spun, clearing the path for Lighty_4423 to seize the checkered flag with CPI_Jamie (CPI) and REL_Julbream in second and third respectively but the post-race penalty to Lighty_4423 (Invictus Racing Team), promoted CPI_Jamie (CPI) to first and Lighty_4423 (Invictus Racing Team) to second.

Ryan-_-Malta1 (Velocity Esports Racing) seized the fastest lap, earning an additional point.
