ASPHALT KINGS: JAMIE MANGION WINS THE THIRD ROUND AS DENZIL AGIUS TAKES THE LEAD OF THE CHAMPIONSHIP

Round 3 – Autopolis International Racing Course, (Japan)

In the third round of the Asphalt King GT3 Series, Jamie Mangion wins his maiden race of the championship.

During the 10-minute qualifying session, Ayrton Birmingham took the pole position. Birmingham’s blistering lap time put him at the top of the grid, just 0.108 seconds ahead of Denzil Agius and Jamie Mangion.

As the race started, Birmingham held on to the lead, however Mangion wasted no time in launching an assault, overtaking Denzil Agius in the opening lap. Once again it all went down to strategy. Mangion followed Birmingham in the pits but managed to exit into the lead. Agius pitted a few laps later on a different strategy and found himself down in P6. After the second round of pit stops, the top three drivers found themselves together again in the final 10 minutes of the race. Birmingham, however, lost some ground and couldn’t keep up with the leading duo, setting the stage for a nail-biting showdown between Mangion and Agius. Jamie Mangion crossed the finish line first, securing his maiden victory with Denzil Agius in second and Ayrton Birmingham in third.

Although he missed out on the top spot, Denzil Agius managed to get the fastest lap of the race and the extra point.
