Round 4 – Brands Hatch, (United Kingdom)
Jamie Mangion secured his second consecutive victory in the fourth round of the Asphalt King GT3 Series after completely dominating the race.
As the drivers took to the track for qualifying, Jamie Mangion took the pole position by just 0.248 seconds ahead of Ilan Dimech Ghirxi and Ayrton Birmingham.
As the race got underway, the excitement quickly escalated into chaos as there was a collision into turn 1 between Ayrton Birmingham, Ilan Dimech Ghirxi and Clint Orland sending their vehicles into the gravel and relegating them to the back of the pack. We saw many drivers struggling for grip and spinning off-track. One of these incidents led to a collision and chaos in the midfield. Jamie Mangion escaped into the lead completely dominating the race winning by 19s plus the fastest lap keeping his championship hopes alive. Ayrton Birmingham and Denzil Agius finished second and third respectively after a thrilling showdown.
After fighting his way through the pack, Ayrton Birmingham managed to close the gap to Denzil Agius. A penalty in the final minutes made us think that all hope was lost, but Birmingham showed us once again what a great driver he is and still managed to overtake Denzil Agius after an incredible fight. Now both drivers are tied in points for the final round. It will be a race of who finishes in front with a slight chance that Mangion wins if they both collide.
