Mark Grech (Williams) wins the last race of the championship after a dominant qualifying and race after avoiding all the chaos with his rapid lap time from the beginning of the race.
Abu Dhabi proved itself as an amazing track for a season finale as we saw almost everyone bunched up together with a lot of incredible wheel-to-wheel racing and drama. Following a safety car in the seventh lap, most of the grid changed their strategies. Seven laps from the chequered flag, there was another safety car. Most of the drivers pitted and changed their tyres to the softs. A few laps after the safety car period ended, Michael Pace (Ferrari), spun and collided with Jake Sammut (McLaren), Matthias Farrugia (AlphaTauri) and Brandon Bonello (Mercedes). This damaged all their cars which ultimately led to them losing a lot of positions. Christian Sammut (Haas) managed to survive all this and secure his first ever podium in the Main Championship. We also saw an incredible drive from Kevin Lucchese (RedBull). In the first lap, he dropped to last after an unfortunate collision. Lucchese gave his all in the last lap which saw him get on the podium for the first time too. Anthony Calabrese (McLaren) was awarded the Driver of the Day after he survived this chaotic end to the race to finish P5 after starting from eleventh place. Kirsten Formosa (Alpine) also had an impressive race which saw him go from sixteenth to sixth.
