The newly organised Acer Malta GT3 Championship, using the Assetto Corsa Competizione game, finally got underway last Thursday with the first race being held in Zolder, Belgium – and it was Adrian Manduca, an experienced racer in the Esports scene having previously been crowned V1 Malta Series champion, who took the race victory in what was an impressive drive.
Manduca secured pole position by less than half a tenth over fellow veteran Esports racer Ryan Carabott, with Sheldon Muscat qualifying in third just over a tenth behind Manduca. Carabott, however, had a disastrous race and only ended up in 12th place, while Manduca and Muscat battled it out for the win, with Manduca edging Muscat out by around 3 seconds, and despite both being handed a 5-second time penalty for a pit lane infringement, this had no effect on the race result.
The next race will be taking place in Silverstone on Thursday 3rd October.
